Feb 27 - Pens and More Pens

I have pens all over the house.  Here is just one area that has too many pens.  I actually can't fit any more pens in this pot.  Time to clean up!  I found a lip gloss and a candy cane.  There were about 6 pens that didn't work and about 5 pens I didn't like, so out they go.  I also moved several markers into the playroom.

Feb 23 - The playroom!

Well I didn't take a picture of the playroom before and or after.  I was to annoyed to think about that, as I was having a fit on how messy the room was.  So after a couple of hours we had 2 bags of trash and a car full of donations.  We simply had TOO MUCH STUFF, but you already know that :)   For the record - the car has a lot of donations, the picture does not do it justice!

Feb 21 & 22 - A Car full of Stuff!

I have loaded all my sale items in the car!  There are books, clothes, shoes and toys.  The sale is a local consignment sale were you can sell up to 200 items.  You label all your things with a tag that has a bar code specific to you.  When an item is purchased they scan the tag with your bar code.  You can check your sales daily!  It's so fun to watch.  I get 70% of the proceeds, they keep 30%.  I make money and I get rid of STUFF!!  How fun is that?  This picture doesn't do it justice, trust me I got rid of a lot of stuff.

Feb 19 - Preparing for Consignment

Several times a year I put clothes, toys and shoes up for a consignment sale in our area.  The summer sale starts next week, so I have been busy going through every one's closet!    Here is the beginning:

Feb 18 - The desk (Again)

You will probably see the desk many times this year.  It is such a magnet for everything.  I did add a wire basket from the cabinet in the butler's pantry.  It seems to work well at holding some bills, notes and other things.  I mostly put things away or in the trash.  All the paperwork went into the blue bucket to sort later.  I did come across another Surprise!!  Can't wait to find out what's in there...

Feb 17 - stuff on the floor

So things are piling up on the floor next to the kitchen desk.  It's so cluttered!  I decided to step away from the pantry and work on the floor.  Most of the things in the basket were old magazines and papers that I just recycled.  The shoes and purse I put away upstairs.  There are a couple organization items that I moved to the playroom closet until I can use them.

Yesssss, I'm still working on the pantry.  It's really not that fun to organize, so I have to do just small parts at a time.  Here are two areas:

Feb 13 - Cleaning and Cookies

It's day 44 and I decided to clean when I got home from work instead of pick something to organize.  So I have no fun before and after pictures.  I do have 2 clean loads of laundry, a clean kitchen and 2 clean toilets. I know, don't be jealous, I'm living the dream :)  Here are some Super Fun cookies I made for Valentines Day. I mean- HOW CUTE ARE THOSE?!

Feb 12 - Reality

Reality- The state of things as they actually exist.

After a month and 1/2 of organizing I still have a cluttered house!  For anyone who thinks my house is clean and perfect, you will love this post.  I am making progress but I have a long way to go.  Remember when the desk in my kitchen was cleaned (1st picture)?  Check it out now (picture 2).  It is the dropping zone for everyone.  The desk is in the kitchen right next to the garage door, so it is a magnet for Stuff and more Stuff!  Ughhh.  After looking at the messy desk and the floor next to the desk(picture 3)- I decided to NOT clean it and go to bed!  :)  Maybe I will tackle it tomorrow.

Feb 11 - Console table drawer

What I've learned from cleaning out all these drawers is that I need more organization trays.  If you have a better idea that will keep me from spending money please let me know!  I would rather buy some super cute boots or jeans.  Organization trays aren't really that exciting.  Here is one of the drawers from the console table.  I was able to donate an old camera and also throw away an empty camera box.  The problem now is all the stuff in the drawer rolls around when you open or close it.

Feb 10 - Utensil Drawer Part 2

I'm back at the utensil drawer- Uggg- What a mess.  I removed everything and cleaned the drawer.  It's gross but I took a picture of the "Drawer Crumbs".  I added the white utensil tray that use to be in the junk drawer (Feb 6th post).  After removing trash, duplicate items and items I don't use I am left with an organized drawer.  YIPPIEEEEEEE

Feb 9 - Utensil Drawer Part 1

I have been wanting to organize and clean this drawer for a long time.  I decided to start by getting a utensil holder to put on my counter.   I checked Target, Bed Bath and Beyond, and HomeGoods.  All they have is white, wire or stainless steel.  I want something with a bit of color so I am still looking.  I decided to move forward with organizing the drawer and just use a pot that I already own.   All I did was remove the items I use most and put them in the pot.

Feb 8 - Online Shopping!

I would love to say I have been shopping for super cute boots and new designer jeans - but no!  I have been shopping for things that will make my life easier.  Things that I have been living with, or really living without for up to 3 years.   I ordered 4 things that I am very excited to receive.
